This document explains which of your data we process and how. It explains who we are, what data we work with, for what purposes we process it and what rights you have in this context.

- We only process the data necessary to provide the website.
- The server keeps a log of accesses in order to search for any errors or in the event of attacks. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.
- We do not use analytics or similar and do not track you.

You can contact a supervisory authority at any time with a complaint, e.g. the competent supervisory authority of the federal state of your residence or the authority responsible for us as the responsible body. 2 Processing of data for delivering and running this website
2.1 Kind and purpose of processing
When you access our website, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise transmit information, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, an anonymised form of your IP address and similar information.
They are processed for the following purposes in particular:
- Ensuring a smooth connection setup of the website,
- Ensuring the smooth use of our website,
- analysing system security and stability and
- to optimise our website
- to save the user’s settings
We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person. Information of this kind may be statistically evaluated by us in anonymised form in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.
2.2 Legal ground and legitimate interest:
Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (contract) for the purpose of providing the services you have requested. Logging is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR in our legitimate interest, which lies in the stable provision of services.
2.3 Recipients:
Recipients of the data may be technical service providers who act as processors for the operation and maintenance of our website.
2.4 Retention period:
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. This is generally the case for the data used to provide the website when the respective session has ended.
Our service provider anonymises IP addresses as the only potentially personal data visible to us, so that it is no longer possible to assign the calling client.

3.1 Kind and purpose of processing
We create statistics about your use of our website. We cannot attribute this information to you as a person, especially we do not correlate them with any personal data you may have entered such as your name or email address. Hence, no personal data should be created. We use the statistics tool matomo with privacy friendly settings, for example we anonymize your IP address before saving it.
The data processing is based on our legitimate interest which lies in adapting our page to your needs and interests. You may object such processing, for further information see section your rights. In that case we will set a cookie stating that you do not want to be tracked and our system will not set any tracking cookies.
We use the following data for creating statistics:
- IP address (anonymized, for IPv4 addresses that is done by dropping half of the address and only using the first two bytes of the addresses)
- Date and time
- Title of the page being viewed
- URL of the page being viewed
- URL of the page that was viewed prior to the current page
- Time in local timezone
- Files that were clicked and downloaded
- Link clicks to an outside domain
- Pages generation time
- Country, region, city
- Main Language of the browser
- User Agent of the browser
- Matomo’s visitor config_id, a string that is salted and only valid for a restricted period of time leveraging your attributes and settings.
3.2 Legal ground and legitimate interest:
Processing is carried out for our legitimate interest to understand in how far the website is of interest and which parts of it

We involve be a technical service providers who act as processors for the operation and maintenance of our website.
3.4 Retention period:
Our statistics service processes the data in a way that maximises privacy. The IP addresses are anonymised early in the operation and all other data is captured in a way that it is not able to figure out whether a visitor is recurring after a short time.

4.2 Storage of preferences
The website may store non-personal information for the purpose of retaining your settings. Currently that is StackColorScheme which saves the colour scheme used by you.

5. Changes to privacy information
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
